Implementation of the new visual design of WordPress 2.7 is almost done. One of our primary objectives with the new design is to offer interface flexibility and customization. You can drag-and-drop and show or hide many UI elements. Here’s the Write Post page stripped down the way I like it. Title, Content, Categories, and Publish. That’s all I use and now that’s all I have to see. Even the navigation is tucked away on the left so I can concentrate on writing.
I’ll be at the WordPress meetup at Latinoware tomorrow (Saturday) at 18:00. I’m speaking earlier in the day ta 13:00. Been around the conference today and been really impressed with the breadth of subjects covered and the number of attendees. Confused about the logo though. (Is South America tucked into Africa?) Se você fala Português passar esta sobre a sua audiência.

It’s Halloween again and ghosts and zombies are about. Would you spend a night in a cemetery, tonight? What sorts of noises do you hear if you live next to one? oooer!
I’m going out tonight for dinner with a friend, I wonder if they’ll be serving Halloween Brack?

Version 1.2 of Carrington Blog is now available for download.
It’s been great seeing developers picking up the Carrington theme framework and using it. We wanted to get these fixes and features out ASAP as a result.
This version has a couple of changes - both bug fixes and new features:
- Added support for meta-{key}.php content templates (previously supported only meta-{key}-{value}.php templates) as requested.
- Added a field for entering the About text that is shown in the sidebar. If this is present, the /about page content is not used. The content of this field is passed through regular WordPress filters for formatting, etc.
- Fixed a layout bug with comment links.
- Adjusted some header tag spacing.
- Abstracted all general templates (header, sidebar, etc.) - this was not working completely in 1.1.
- Updated documentation.
Enjoy! Let us know in the forums if you run into trouble.

We have an in-depth discussion of our laptop bags and then ramble for a while. As confirmed by Steve O’Grady tonight, our rambling is indeed entertaining if you already know us.
I also talk a bit about Carrington around 23 minutes in.

Struggling up the what-feels-like-vertical hill from the North Harbour in Cape Clear is a nightmare. At least Adam was asleep. He was the lucky one.
